After the completion of a few sidequests, however, I will immediately abuse the silliness of the morality system to "go clean" (.mostly, there's a lot of shit exclusive to stealing, but given how easy it is to game the system.) and continue from there.Īs for the second, while there are things in this game that were clearly well done, there are a lot of things in this game that I do not like, and a lot of things that I feel clash heavily with the strengths of the Mons genre. This means that for most of the game I will be stealing left and right, even for a lot of shit that I absolutely did not need to steal anything for. I will be attempting to get as much as possible for the longest period of time. Now, I'm going to make two things clear here. So welcome, everyone, as I take you through Pokemon Rocket Edition. but every person making a team rocket hack since then has done their absolute best to try to get the FEEL of Toxic Purple back. Did they die, did they just give up, was there behind the scenes issues, we'll probably never know. The problem is, after that alpha and before the beta release, the hack designer vanished from the internet forever. uh, just about any other hack from that era, outside of maybe the mid-beta Prism, during an era where the pinnacle of hacking was shit like Shiny Gold and early versions of Liquid Crystal. To those of you who don't have a decade plus length experience in Pokemon hacks, Toxic Purple was a hack from waaaaay back in the day, which had an incredibly promising premise, and which also had an alpha release that was absolutely delightful to play, with the promise being shown for the first beta making it a hack that well exceeded the scope of. There was the occasional ok output, but nothing really that major.īut attempts kept getting made, because everyone wanted to catch that lightning in the bottle from the thunderstorm known as Toxic Purple. not to even mention Team Rocket Edition, a hack that I Nuzlocked on this forum a month shy of eleven goddamn years ago, hated then, and watched age in a way that makes milk look long lasting. Shit like Rocket Science or Outlaw or Topaz or their ilk. very, very bad history of hacks which purported to be villain hacks, and then were godawful. And you can miss me with that morality system shit because I have a much grander game where my actions have major consequences and lock me out of shit, that game's called real life and it sucks eggs enough that I play video games to get the fuck out of it. Personally speaking, "villain runs" are something I don't really give much of a shit about, mostly because I'm the most vanilla good guy person ever when it comes to video games, because my "villainous nature" is best revealed when I have an army that's completely overpowered and squeeze the life out of my enemies that way. Because everyone loves a villain run, and games where you're the bad guy and king of the world are just fun! make a hack wherein you're a part of the team of the bad guys, that's fun to play.
